Ismael Alcina
Biography
Since he was a child, Ismael was closely linked to the rich local folklore actively participating as a guitarist and vocalist in a self-taught way. At age 16, he began playing electric bass influenced specially by flamenco and pop music. Later, he combined his studies with the intensity of professionally being a session musician, doing tours and recordings with many different artists in festivals, clubs and the most important theaters around Spain. (EA!, Maita Vende Ca, Alba Molina, India Martínez, Lya, David de María, Lidia Guevara, Rojas and many others)

Ismael attended workshops with musicians such as Paul Gill and Chris Higgins. In 2010, he moved to Barcelona where he got the bachelor in Jazz & Modern Music on electric bass at the Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya (ESMUC) studying with Gary Willis and Mario Rossy. Currently, he combines his work as a sideman with his first personal project, which has just released its first album “Bass Life”
